Begin early in the morning with a ride to Diamond Creek. On the next segment of your journey, the Hualapai Indians take you through the Grand Canyon wilderness by shuttle bus to Diamond Creek where your 8-passenger raft and Hualapia Indian guide stand ready to take you through the seventh wonder of the world. Once on the Colorado, hold on as you raft for 40 miles over a series of white water rapids ranging from class 3 to 6, on a scale of 1 to 10. Be ready. You will get wet! Guaranteed! A brief stop at Travertine Canyon gives you an opportunity to hike into this secret side canyon and enjoy a piece of nature only accessible by river. After a delicious lunch, your raft winds its way down the canyon over smooth water to Grand Canyon West. You then board a helicopter for a breath-taking climb 4000 feet up to the Rim of the Grand Canyon above.
Your adventure doesn't stop here, upon completion of your rafting tour you will take a Helicopter ride to the top rim of Grand Canyon West where your vehicle is ready to load for your departure.
It is VERY important that you understand the itinerary for the Whitewater Rafting Overnight Package. You will drive yourself to Grand Canyon West to enjoy your Legacy Day Package, and then you will be going to the Hualapai Lodge in Peach Springs for your lodging. Rafting begins in Peach Springs the next morning, and ends at Grand Canyon West.
You have two options when you choose the Whitewater Rafting Overnight Package:
Option 1:
Shuttle to Hualapai Lodge-Leave Rental Car at Grand Canyon West
Anywhere from 2:00 pm -5:00 pm, you must board the shuttle from Grand Canyon West to Peach Springs, Arizona, where you will spend the night at the Hualapai Lodge on Historic Route 66. You will leave your car at Grand Canyon West. Pack a small bag for your overnight at the Lodge, the bag will go with you on the raft the next day. It is important not to pack too much, as you need to fit it all in the dry bag.
OPTION 1 IMPORTANT HIGHLIGHTS
Option 2:
Drive Rental Car to Grand Canyon West-Drive Rental Car to Hualapai Lodge-Shuttle at end of Rafting back to your rental vehicle
With this option, you can spend as much time as you wish at Grand Canyon West, then depart for the Hualapai Lodge at Peach Springs, AZ when you choose. You will have your rental vehicle and all your belongings with you. You will take the Whitewater Rafting Tour the next morning, ending at Garnd Canyon West, and take shuttle back to your rental vehicle at the Hualapai Lodge.
